Bed and Breakfast owners Margaret and John welcome you to High Orchard, a family-run, friendly lodging in Wiveliscombe. High Orchard is a farm-style accommodation site with a hearty farm-house breakfast- a tasty homemade sausage, home-cured bacon and free range eggs.

Our B&B features three rooms, which can be viewed in Accommodation.

We run a sheep farm, on which we keep 400 Breeding ewes and lambs on an area of land going up to 1100ft. Ideally situated for trout fishing in nearby Clatworthy and Wimbleball Reservoirs, we have facilities for cleaning and storing fish you have caught.

The Exmoor National Park is a short distance away and there are plenty of scenic and quiet walks right on our doorstep. The West Somerset Coast is about 10 miles away and the West Somerset Steam Railway runs for 22 miles from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead through the beautiful scenery of the vale of Taunton Deane between the Brendon Hills and Quantock Hills.

The National Trust owns many properties in the area foremost of which is Dunster Castle in its Fairy-Tale like setting.  There is also Knightshayes near Tiverton, featuring the best garden in the south west. Exmoor is also a marvellous place for many and varied country sports and we will be pleased to help you with any information you may require on them.

When I opened the window of my room to peek out at the moon rising in the sky at twilight, I watched as the twinkling of houses-lights appeared across the darkening valley and listened to the distant lowing of cows and the bleating of sheep in the fields and realised I bewitched by the place and the people – and have stayed so. A warm welcome awaits you at High Orchard with a cup of tea and piece of home-made cake in this unspoilt corner of Somerset.

Wi-fi is available upon request.
